Sea Base (8/7-8/13)

In August of 2023, 8 members from Troop 883 went to the Florida Keys on the Sea base trip. These scouts canoed out to an Island where they stayed for 5 nights. Ben R. Stated, “It was very adventurous with exciting events. Expect the unexpected.” They also went on a fishing trip and had to catch their dinner for the night. It is a once in a life-time opportunity that everyone should go on.

Camp Horseshoe (7/9-7/15)


In July of 2023, 21 members from troop 883 went to Camp Horseshoe for our annual trip. At camp, the scouts had to the opportunity to earn a variety of merit badges. Some of the scouts completed Eagle required merit badges, while others completed merit badges that peaked their interests. Nightly the scouts would competitively march, and they won first place three separate nights throughout the week. The highlight of the week was winning the Inter-troop competition for Paul Bunyan Day!

Camp at Oest/Broadcreek Guppy Gulch (6/9-6/10)


In June of 2023, scouts from Troop 883 camped at Broad Creek over a weekend. The scouts cooked breakfast, then went on a morning hike. Later in the day they went to Guppy Gulch, where there were a variety of climbing floats. They had many water courses where the scouts could play and swim.
