In February of 2024, 9 scouts from troop 883 participated in the Klondike derby. They camped Friday night into Saturday morning. The scouts pushed a hand-made sled around to different stations. At these stations, beads were handed out. A total of 85 beads were able to be handed out based off of performance. Some stations the scouts participated in were zip lining, spear throwing, and a sled race. By lunchtime, the scouts had all but 3 stations completed. It did not take them long before they finished the remaining stations. By 2:00 pm, the scouts were the third team to finish having a total of 80 beads. They finished the derby in third place.
