Adopt-A-Road

Troop 883 adopted Henryton Road in Marriottsville back in 2006. The road is 1.9 miles long and runs from Arrington to Marriottsville Roads.  The Troop is responsible for cleaning trash on the side of the road a minimum of two times a year.  Participants must be a minimum of 12 years old.

We will be having our next trash pickup on Saturday, May 19th  at 1:00 pm (rain date is Sunday, May 20th at 1:00 pm).  I need volunteers to help pick up trash.  We are only permitted to have a maximum of 12 volunteers at a time for safety reasons.   The more people, the quicker the cleanup goes.  We will meet on Henryton Road.  There is a pull off with ample parking spaces across from the water pipe about mid-way on the road.

All volunteers (adults and Scouts) must read the attached information sheet and sign a participant agreement form.  Minors must have a parent signature as well.  Please return signed agreements to me either via email or to Jordan at the next Troop meeting.  If you have already filled out an agreement form from a past trash pickup, I do not need a new one.

Boy Scouts can earn community service for both school and rank advancement by participating in this activity.

IMPORTANT:  A new Adopt-a-Road organizer is needed.  This is the last trash pickup I will be organizing. Please contact me if you are interested.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks,

Sheryl Reynolds – Committee Member and Adopt-a-Road organizer
